The sole purpose of the content on this site is to provide information to provide resources to clinicians managing people with whiplash and their patients. It is also hoped that participation in Whiplash Site Navigator will facilitate managment. It is not intended for any other purpose. By using this site, you agree to do so at your own risk and to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Intellectual property rights

Whiplash Navigator and this Project

These Intellectual property rights of this website (Whiplash Navigator) and the Project vest in Sydney University (Sydney) and Griffith University  (GU) as tenants in common in proportion to each Universities individual  contribution.  Sydney and GU each consent to the other using the Intellectual Property Rights in this website and the project IP free of charge and in perpetuity for the purposes of further research, education , training , publication and provision of clinical services to patients of the Universities staff.

Sydney and GU each grant to each of the Motor Accidents Insurance Commission (MAIC) and the State Government Regulatory Authority (SIRA) on NSW, a non-exclusive, royalty free, perpetual, irrevocable licence to use adapt, modify and sub-licence the website and the Project IP for their respective internal purposes and the ongoing development and use of Whiplash Navigator, including but not limited to SIRA and MAIC enabling the user of, and access to the Whiplash Navigator website by persons training and advising as to whiplash and related service providers. Any adaption or modification by SIRA and or MAIC of the Whiplash Navigator website must be undertaken in consultation with Sydney and GU.

No party may commercialise this website or the Project without the consent of the other parties.

Background IP

The background IP used in this project is the Clinical Prediction Rule( CPR).  All intellectual property rights of the CPR are owned by Griffith University (GU).

As part of this project, GU grantt to each of Sydney, SIRA, and MAIC,  a perpetual irrevocable non-exclusive, royalty free licence to use, adapts and modifies and sub-licence the use of the CPR:

  1. For the purposes of carrying out the Project 
  2. The extent necessary to enable the use of the CPR in its form within the Whiplash Navigator, by Sydney, SIRA, MAIC and persons treating and advised as to whiplash an related services providers (at no charge).
